https://www.dinamalar.com/news_detail.asp?id=2832858

Consolidated results not received so far at our end

Consolidated results are not yet received from Anna University at our college. Hence, we are not in the position to address queries related to the results published for students in their student login at present. We do understand the anxiety of students to know the reason for discrepancies in the result. Let us hope it will be corrected in the next working day. We will post the results as soon as we receive the results.

Friday, August 27, 2021

Certain clarifications in results

We are yet to receive the consolidated result from University. Meanwhile, we observed certain scenarios regarding results.

1. Results are being updated.

2. Many students, particularly those students with arrears have claimed that they have written the exams without knowing whether they have appeared or not for the particualar exam. We have verified attendance sheet and dispatch of answer sheets, we find no particulars. Later when asked to submit the screen shot of the sent mail for the particular subject, they have admitted that they have not written the exam. So students are instructed to verify their sent mail before reporting the issue.

3. Students who have submitted late after the prescribed time, students who have not sent the hard copy, students who have failed to attach the annexure 1 with the answer sheet were marked absent.

4. Students who have sent to different mail id or incomplete mail id were also marked absent.

5. We found similarity from the students that those students who experienced login issue in previous appearance and those students who appeared for improvement, the results were not published as of now.

6. We are still looking for the consolidated result or link for downloading from web portal from Anna University. If received, it will be updated in the this blog.

7. Students are instructed to call over phone only during office hours only 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM in this regard. Any updates received will be posted in this blog

8. Students are instructed to call personally. Many students ask their parents to call to exam cell and any questions asked to parents regarding the examination , they are unable to answer which wastes time for both ours and parents.

Commencement of classes

The classes will be started for the students for the students in physical mode as per the following schedule.

    For 3rd year - 1.9.21 onwards

For Final year - 6.9.21 onwards

    For 2nd year - 16.9.21 onwards

The students are advised to follow the standard operating procedures and take the vaccination

Consolidated Results - Not received at college end

Consolidated results were not received so far at our end. It is not available to download at the College web portal either. We will post the results once we receive it. Many students are calling regarding the discrepancies in the results. We are unable to answer for those discrepancy at this moment, as we didn't get the results.

Students - Do follow the procedure for examination process

Few students reported that they have sent the soft copy of the answer sheet to some other mail id apart from the procedure specified in the instruction to the candidates posted in this exam blog or you tube link given in this blog. You need to send the email based on the semester of the subject. Only those mail id in charges will be authorized to mark the attendance on that day. So if u send to some other mail id though it is in usage for other semesters, you will me marked absent as it is not received in the appropriate mail id. So you are advised to send to the appropriate mail id

Few students mistakes - need to avoid

In spite of repeated instructions, few students are not submitting the soft copy of answer scripts on time. Further, few students are not attaching the front page (annexure 1) as the first page in the soft copy / hard copy.

Since the courier / post office are handling huge amount of answer covers, there is a possibility of answer scripts missing. Even we do have received other college answer packets. In that case, if your answer paper is not received, you need to submit the proof of postage, to proceed further.

Few students were not able to produce the proof postage and hence we couldnt proceed further and as per the University instructions they are treated as failed to post the hard copy and they were marked absent. So students are instructed to keep the proof of postage with them and need to produce the original copy of proof of postage whenever it is asked by the college / university.

As per the instructions given by the University, post your FN answer sheets on the date of exam and AN answer sheets on the date of exam or the next working day itself. We found that some students are not following the instruction and posting the answer scripts late. In this case, it will not be considered for valuation,

Mistakes by first year students

First year students are instructed to read the instruction / you tube instruction (links are given in the blog previous posts)

Do submit the soft copy from your gmail id within the prescribed time limit. U need to submit the softcopy of answer sheet in pdf format only. Few students have submitted as images which is not acceptable.

Late submission of soft copy is treated as absent.

Thursday, July 8, 2021

Silly mistakes results in rejection of papers

 1. Make a draft in email well before the exams and check the to address, subject is correct by all means. Still some students are typing the email address, some copy the part of the email address which results in non receipt of soft copy. for example, while copying the mail id, one student left out the last letter in gmail.com i.e "gmail.co".

2. Dont staple the answer sheet after keeping in cover. Use tapes to paste the cover. While using gums to paste the flap, take care to use little. When you use more gums, it also sticks with the answer sheets and while taking out to answer sheets, the pages got teared.

3. Some students are not writing the date of exam and session, subject code in the pasting slip.

4. Some students make mistakes in register numbers and subject codes. your papers are sorted out based on subject codes. If you have not written the subject code correctly, it will be placed with other subject code bundles. Do write and ensure all the data written in annexure 1 and 2 are correct, well before the exam. Mistakes in Register numbers will result in absent as it will be checked with the attendance for that subject. The covers will be cut only after receiving all papers for that bundle.

5.Thread should be strong enough. It is found that many threads are cut.

6. Some students have stapled the answer sheets. Do avoid it.

Thursday, July 1, 2021

Additional issues as on 1/7/21

 1. Students will be marked as absent if they submit soft copy without Annexure 1 (first page).

2. Many students complain that the mail is queued and they couldnt send it on time. It is found that students were writing their answers beyond the exam time and they scan & send at the last minute.  It is already said that, for last minute sending of mails, use laptops rather than mobiles.

3. please dont give excuse as power or signal problem for not sending your softcopy on time. Again, if you start the scanning process at the end  of exam, there will not be any problem or you can have enough time to counter the problem

4. Still some students are sending the softcopy without the proper naming format and subject of email are also not in the format as given in the instructions. It may lead to rejection of paper.

Monday, June 28, 2021

QP link will be visible only for 30 Min from 29/6/21

The Question paper link will be visible from 20 minutes before the exam commencement and 10 minutes after exam commencement.(30 Min) from 29/6/21. Students are instructed to download the Question paper withing this timings.

Additional clarification as on 28/6/21

It is found that, students are sending the soft copies from different mail ids other than their own. Students are advised to send the soft copy from their registered mail id with the university. If your registered mail id is not working, u may send the soft copy from you own other mail ids for all subjects.

Sending from other friends mail id may be problematic later in case of disputes.

Students who use ST courier may reconsider other couriers as your papers arrives late to the Institution

Donot consider alternate source to receive QPs

It is found that the question papers downloaded from this site is negligible (less than 5%) when compared to the strength of students. It means that, the students are trusting some other source for QPs. The data of No of downloads is tracked and hence it may create additional problems. Hence, students are instructed to download the question papers only from the respective college source, i.e, this blog for our college.

Sunday, June 27, 2021

New amendments from University regarding exams

 1. Student submitting google drive link or any other link for Soft copy submission will be marked as absent. Students should attach the soft copy not links.

2.After downloading the question paper, if you find any thing wrong in the question paper like Questions missing or not as per the regulation etc do contact exam cell to inform it

3. In the above case, the revised QP will be posted again after receiving from University

Mistakes of students today

 1. Before sending the scanned copy, ensure that you have scanned all the pages in order. Today, a student ensures whether he have scanned all the pages after sending the pdf and found missing. Second attempt of sending the pdf is considered as malpractice.

2. A student scanned the pages without top and bottom page data and sent the pdf. U need to scan covering both top and bottom data of your answer sheet.

3.A student sent the pdf without the front page. U need to scan including the Annexure 1 (front page) also. Ironically a student sent only the annexure 1 as a pdf. Do avoid both

4. You need to paste the Annexure 2 (pasting page) on the cover, so that it reaches the exam cell. If there is no pasting slip, it is mixed with other covers addressed to principal office. Later the principal office identified and it reaches the exam cell late. The answer paper cover may be missed or misplaced in such kind of postage. So do paste the Annexure 2 on the answer paper cover.

5.Two students have written the same Register No in the answer sheet. Based on the instruction, you very well know that writing wrong register no may result in rejection of answer paper. Do ensure you are writing the correct register no.

A3 Sheets should be used for certain subjects

For the subject Engineering graphics and Kinematics of Machines, A3 sheet should be used in the ongoing examination. Also instructed to Scan such that the diagrams and measurement information are clear in the soft copy.

Some common mistakes by students for the past 2 days

 1. Do ensure that you have attached the scan copy of your answer script before sending the mail. Reports said Some students have simply sent the mail without attaching. Sending the email from laptop will solve this issue. At times, sending attachment using mobile will have this problem. In mail, it will attach and we can send. In mobile, file will be attached during sending process and if there is any problem in file size or format or bandwidth at that time, mobile will send the message without attaching.

2. After sending the email, please verify your sent mail. if your mail is not sent or sent without attachment, please attach again and send it at the earliest. If attached mail is received within 40+20 minutes, it will be considered as a special case though we receive 2 mails from the candidate (1 without attachment and second with attachment - not considered as malpractice)

3. You need to send within 40 minutes after the completion of exam timing. 20 Min grace period. Do start scanning after the exam completion time. For any reasons, pdf of papers submitted after 40+20 mins is not accepted and it is marked as absent.

4. Arrange the papers in order and scan. Some students reported that in a hurry they have scanned wrongly and it takes time to submit the correct soft copy.

5. Some students submit more than 1 time which is considered as malpractice. So before attempting to send the second time, check the sent mail. If is shows that the mail is already sent, please dont try to send the second time.

6. Some students, in a hurry typed your Register no wrongly in subject of email. your emails are segregated based on subject of the gmail, please adhere to the subject format correctly

7. We find mostly from 2013 & special arrear students are following the naming format of the soft copy or the subject of email. It will not be listed while we use queries to retrieve it later. So read the instruction / see youtube video that is already posted.

8. We do understand postage problems for FN session. But University had issued strict guidelines and we are not in the place of decision making in this issue. Hope it be come to normal next week.

9. Some students submit the answer sheet for more than one time from two different mail ids. it is considered as malpractice.

10. Same google form link should be used for the entire exam duration. The dates will be altered accordingly from our side. Do ensure that you fill the google form after receiving the proof of postage.

11.Question paper link posted today FN is wrongly linked. In that case, we will rectify soon within 10 miuntes. please dont be panic

12. Some students fail to put signature in the paper. you can complete all the entries (top and bottom) well before the start of the exam.

13. U can comment in the blog for any grievance, it will be answered at the end of the day.

14.  Do copy paste the email id to which your softcopy of the answer sheet to be sent. Never ever type the mail id. There are high chance to miss any character during typing.

15. Save the draft well in advance with the correct mail id and subject

Additional clarification in the Exam instructions

Many students have come up with some clarifications in the instruction posted by exam cell in the you tube (https://youtu.be/rGRR55Ez_y8)

1. Regarding cloth line cover, if A4 size cloth line is not available, they can use larger cover to send the answer sheet. Only thing is that, the answer sheet should not be folded.

2.All the entries including top and bottom of the page should be handwritten by the candidate. No printouts of top and bottom entry or in any portion of answer sheet is allowed

3.Some students asked the preference of the mode of postage. Each mode has certain advantage and disadvantage.

Speed post / Registered post - Advantages are Govt service - so it is easy to track online or raise complaint during disputes, you can keep the tracking data either soft or hard copy, proof of postage will be in printed matter, reliability and responsibility is more, postage amount may be less than or equal to courier, will not be suspended during covid situations

Disadvantages are postal timings, may be 1 or 2 days delayed delivery, takes more time in post office process compared to courier

Advantages of courier (if it is professional Courier) - promising next day delivery or delayed by one more day, Courier office timings, time spent in courier office is minimum

Disadvantages - tracking online is difficult compared to postal service, not so reliable during disputes, proof of postage will be handwritten and may not be legible, service depends on covid situation.

In my personal view, if you are posting within the post office timing, Indian postal service is better. if postal timing is exceeded, preferably professional courier is good.

If there are further clarifications, we will post those in this blog subsequently

Proof of exam fees remittance - withheld of results - for information to students and parents

In the first year results declared yesterday, most of the students have received WH13 as a result (Non payment of exam fees by the Institute)

This is to inform our students / parents that the results of both higher semester and First year were withheld citing that we have not paid the exam fees before the result declarations. We receive numerous phone calls from the parents, questioning the reputation of our Institute in paying the exam fees. We here by, decided to release the proof of communication of the fees paid well in advance before the declarations of results to the University, so that the parents and the students can understand well, that the fault is not with the Institute regarding exam fees payment and subsequent result withheld by Anna University.

Please click the link below to know the proof of exam fees payment for first year students

Higher semester result declared date :11/4/2021

Exam Fees paid date : 03/02/2021

But the results were withheld by Anna University citing that our Institute has not remitted the fees and later released after a day after submitting the proof of payment.

Time gap between payment of fees and result declaration : 2 Months 8 days

First Semester Result declared date: 15/05/2021

Exam Fees paid date : 09/04/2021

But the results were withheld by Anna University citing that our Institute has not remitted the fees once again (WH13)

Time gap between payment of fees and result declaration : 1 Month 6 days.

In all these years, our Institute has no history of remitting the exam fees late to the University. This is for the kind information to all our students and parents.

If there are any further queries, the parents / Students can contact the Anna University regarding withheld of results due to non payment of exam fees by the Institute (as we have remitted all the exam fees well in advance).

Thank you for all your support in this regard.

Considering the hardships faced by the students, the government directed the university to conduct re-exams for students who appeared for the online proctored tests in February.

Students who have passed the February test can appear for retest if they wish The online exam will be conducted for three hours like in other universities. Exams for next semester also will be held in the same pattern.  The failed attempt will not be considered as arrear if appearing for retest.

Arrear fees payment from Monday 10/5/21

Students can pay the arrear fees at college cash counter from Monday (10/5/21). Students who have received U or F as a result alone can pay the fees. For some students results are yet to come. Students who have college / hostel dues pending are instructed to clear the college / hostel dues at the earliest. Only after clearing college / hostel dues, exam fees will be received.

Do keep the exam fees receipt safe. The receipt should be shown while registering online for exams. Anna University have not opened the registration yet. Payment of fees alone is not eligible to appear for the examination. The subjects should be registered online for writing exams. Registration for exams will be intimated in this blog once we receive communication from University.

Last time, many of the students failed to pay the fees / register online as they have shifted their burden of doing the exam process on friends and the friends have not paid / incorrectly paid / not registered/ incorrectly verified the subjects. So it is better to pay / register online in person. If any undesirable happens in the exam process, while paying / registration through friends, College will not be held responsible. This time we will get signature in a separate notebook from the person who are coming for online registration. We will be responsible for only those who come in person for registering and verifying the subjects

However, due to Covid situation, we do accept the payment / registration through friends (who are studying in IRTT) also, only upon receiving a letter from the student concerned that he is responsible for all the consequences for not paying / registering / verifying the subjects in person.

Open book end-semester exams at Anna University

Anna University has announced that its April/May 2021 theory end-semester exams for all even semesters (2, 4 and 6) will be an ‘Open Book Type’ for all UG and PG students in its university departments. The open book exam is, however, not applicable for final-semester students. This is expected to be a one-time measure due to the impact of Covid in the State.

A decision is pending on whether the same would be extended to students in affiliated engineering colleges, adding that a call would be taken in a couple of days. The exams, though in the open book format, will be held through the online-proctored mode. Group discussions will be considered malpractice

During the previous online proctored exam, students tried to form WhatsApp groups and groups in Telegram to outsmart the the online proctored test. Hence, the university has decide to move to descriptive type tests

The university said the first section of the exam, Part A, for a total of 10 marks, will have five two-mark questions one from each chapter. The second part, for 40 marks, will have five eight-mark questions one from each chapter.

All questions in the exam will be of analytical type with no direct answers from the textbooks or reference books. Students can refer to course material in physical form as well as from the web. However, getting answers from  others in any way or form and group discussions will be considered a malpractice

The university will have three sets of question papers and  the questions will be jumbled so students will not have the same questions or question paper.

No communication from University regarding WH cases

Many students were calling us to know the status of WH cases. We do understand the situation of students of WH cases. We will update the information, if received from University regarding WH cases in this blog. So far, no communication is received from University regarding when the pending results will be declared, the punishment / reexam if any for WH1 candidates etc.

The videos of such candidates are being analysed. We hope, once the process is completed, results may be declared.

Meanwhile, some students are sending youtube links to us and asking the questions based on that videos. We advice the students dont beleive in such youtube videos, which give false hopes and always rely on Anna University sites for any information regarding results or exams. Unless we receive communication from University, we cannot give comments on such type of youtube videos.

WH13 Issue - Need to clarify with University

We are continuously receiving from the students that they are getting the result as WH13. In this regard, there was a discussion early this morning with the Principal & Zonal authorities. As per our records we have sent all the exam fees well in advance to the University. Since the exam fee remittance proofs are at the Exam cell, we will send those proofs to University and will let you know the updates after communicating with the University authorities after 10 AM today.

Consolidated results not available so far

We have been trying from last night for getting a consolidated result copy from University / Zonal office / web portal.  But so far, we couldn't get a consolidated result copy. It will be posted when it is available.

Some students have informed that they have got WH13 (Exam fees not paid) as result. But we have paid all the exam fees to the University as per the data provided by them. The students who have got WH13 may communicate the information (with necessary proof of your appearance for the exam / result copy) to the class advisors, and they can verify it at Exam cell / College office.

Since the college is in the control of CRPF, due to election counting center, only staff can make entry to the exam cell after due permissions. So WH13 candidates are informed to inform advisors at the earliest as 13 & 14 April are Govt holidays.
